Notes:
When we were stolen/colonized Western culture imposed upon us their ideas of time. Gregorian calendars, days of the week, the 24-hour day, holidays—all of these are evidence of crimes against our humanity as nonwestern peoples. By participating in their ideas of time we lost how we tell time, how we address our age, how we quantify a day, our appointed times (not “holidays”), etc. We have aged and slaved ourselves in their “time zone” at the expense of our times. As a result we miss our times, we miss ourselves, we miss what we need to show up for in our seasons, overlapped by their irreverent renditions of holy-days. As we dewesternize, we must return to our true sense of time.
