Jan. 5, 2016–I'm not necessarily seeking to start a culture where women begin sharing journal entries on social media--no; I really want to preserve the art of diary literature. However, the more I research the more I realize how our journals had to be "found" or it had to come out posthumously from a family or friend that a person kept a journal... How can we preserve the necessary privateness of journaling while balancing it with letting people know we are archiving ourselves so our books don't end up in the wrong hands, hidden away in storage, or in a random bookshop in the "$2" pile 50 years after our death? Is this even necessary? Is the beauty of a posthumous journal within searching for it?

I wonder.

Responsibly,

Chimene

Jan. 10, 2016–Journaling is the documentation of how you treat what touches you.

Jan. 11, 2016– Take time to remember. Your story is a pause away.

Jan 12, 2016–Living as though there is nothing and no one coming after you or soon to come from you is a destructive mindset. The dictionary defines "destroy" as "to cause (something) to end or no longer exist : to cause the destruction of (something)". Our lives shouldn't cause an undoing or extinction of our Selves. Live knowing you are more than "now".

Jan 17, 2016–Learning how to reflect without anxiety. Responsible documentation of my yesterdays...

Jan 19,2016–Confrontation is hard...but necessary. This is the journey: build the ladder to overcome.

Jan 26,2016–If you can remember why you began, you can see why this moment is necessary. Learn to rest: let the story tell itself...through you.

2/6/2016–If it lasts, if it persists, then at least learn its name. At least learn your name. If darkness seems stronger than light, then harness its strength to walk in power...until this is over.

Dawn writing. Dawn resolutions.
