genes,sis return to your books
Long ago we were written into place. Long ago our peoples wrote books that, in their own way and language and fashion, warned of/foretold the times we are living in today. Those books were either stolen, destroyed, turned into museum artifacts, or irreverently mass published (i.e. “the Bible” which is a history book that was stolen and used to apply to people in general when it speaks only to one group of people but I digress...). Western culture wants to have us believing that our peoples’ writings are myths; silly, primitive, meaningless scribbles that meant nothing. But our books carry insights, strong warnings, guidelines on how to guard ourselves, prophecies, and insights on how to look at what’s going on in the world and KNOW what’s going on and what our responses should be. Our books tell us.
And yet: All around the world rivers have been turning blood red in African villages and in China, swine livestock has been plagued in mass numbers, floods have decimated crops in the Midwest States, locusts have swarmed in Mecca and Yemen, trumpets have sounded from the sky in Spain—handwritten holy books (esp the Scriptures) have spoken what these signs mean, but because we have been westernized we have no idea how to read these signs and decode what they mean for us. We are also out of position to look at current events and write our own prophecies, tell our own times for the next generation (we rely on “news” but that’s not what we come from. We come from oral and written history.). We are entertained and await the other to tell us what’s going on when we should be able to do so. Return to your books so you can read your times and write the times for the next generation. This is who we are. It’s why what we do is #morethanjournaling. It’s a continuation of what we are DESIGNED to do. This melanin isn’t just pigment. Discern your times. Document. Stay sober-minded. Write your books. .
